Connolly, Maureen (Catherine) (1934-1969)

US tennis player, nicknamed ‘Little Mo’ because she was just 157 cm/5 ft 2 in tall. In 1953 she became the first woman to win in the same year the four major championships that comprise the Grand Slam of tennis: the US, Australian, British, and French titles.
