Consumers Union

Private organization formed in the USA in 1936 to protect consumers' interests, usually in terms of quality and safety.

Consumers Union publishes Consumer Reports, a monthly summary of tests and comparisons conducted by independent researchers, and two newsletters on health and money matters. A champion consumer advocacy, the organization seeks to inform the public and hold manufacturers responsible for their products. See also Ralph Nader.
