Coon Rapids

City in Anoka County, southeastern Minnesota, USA, on the Mississippi River, 22 km/14 mi north of Minneapolis; population (2000) 61,600. It has experienced much commercial and residential growth over the past few decades, partly because of its location on the Twin Cities–St Cloud corridor.
