Cooper, Henry

Cooper, Henry (1934– )

English heavyweight boxer, the only man to win three Lonsdale Belts outright (1961, 1965, and 1970). He held the British heavyweight title 1959–71 and lost it to Joe Bugner. He fought for the world heavyweight title but lost in the sixth round to Muhammad Ali in 1966. He received a knighthood in 2000.
