Cooper, Kenneth (1941– )

US harpsichordist, conductor, and musicologist. He studied at Mannes College and at Columbia University, returning to Mannes in 1975 as professor of harpsichord. He made his London debut in 1965, and his New York debut in 1973; he made frequent tours of the USA as a soloist and chamber music performer. He is well known in Baroque music and has premiered works by Barab, Busoni, and Krenek, in addition to many modern revivals. His publications include an edition of Monteverdi's Tirsi e Clori (1967) and Three Centuries of Music in Score.
