This layer is now blue-green--the result of the metal reacting with water mid air to create copper carbonate. Hydrometallurgical plants use a variety of byproducts, including circuit board scrap and bimetallics, to make cupric oxide, copper sulfate and copper carbonate. Field checking of the sample site and surrounding soil sites containing the very high gold revealed altered rocks and copper carbonate minerals along what appears to be a mineralized East-West shear zone on the Huidong Concession. |
