Corkine, William (lived 17th century)

English lutenist and composer. He published two books of airs to the lute and bass viol, followed by dances and other instrumental pieces; an anthem is also preserved. The second book of airs contains settings of Donne's ‘Go and catch a falling star’; Break of Day: ‘'Tis true, 'tis day’; The Bait: ‘Come live with me, and be my love’.
