Corocoro

Town in the department of La Paz, Bolivia, 90 km/56 mi southwest of the city of La Paz; population (2001 est) 10,200. Corocoro is the principal copper-mining centre of Bolivia and lies at an altitude of 3,930 m/12,894 ft on the La Paz–Arica railway.

In Venezuela, ENI owns 26% in the Petrosucre JV (PDVSA/CVP 74%) which operates the Corocoro field, where oil production began in early 2008, and a 19.
ConocoPhillips had planned to bring the 55,000 b/d Corocoro field on stream in Paria Oeste, along with equity partners PDVSA and ENI.
He said the ConocoPhillips project in the Corocoro field was called off because "there was a deviation of US$300m".
