Corocoro

Town in the department of La Paz, Bolivia, 90 km/56 mi southwest of the city of La Paz; population (2001 est) 10,200. Corocoro is the principal copper-mining centre of Bolivia and lies at an altitude of 3,930 m/12,894 ft on the La Paz-Arica railway.
