Corri, Domenico (1746–1825)

Italian conductor, publisher, and composer. He was a pupil of Nicola Porpora. He settled in Edinburgh, Scotland, in 1771 as conductor (of the Music Society), publisher, and singing-master. He failed in business and settled in London, England, around 1790, when he set up in partnership with Jan Dussek, who married his daughter Sophia in 1792. Apart from music, he also wrote theoretical works, including a music dictionary.
