Overture by Hector Berlioz, Op. 21, composed in in Italy in 1831, rewritten in Paris, France, in 1844, and first performed there on 19 January 1845 as La Tour de Nice. The final version (Le Corsaire) was first performed in Brunswick, Germany, on 8 April 1854.
