    0.02 sec.

Coşbuc, George (1866–1918)

Romanian poet and translator, born in Transylvania. He edited the review Tribuna, dedicated to promoting literature based on peasant life. He also founded the family review Vatra in 1894 with Ion Luca Caragiale and Ioan Slavici, and, together with Alexandru Vlahuta (1858–1919), established the influential review Sǎmǎnǎtorul in 1901.

Coşbuc's translation of Dante's epic Divine Comedy is still considered the best in Romanian.
