The cosine rule is a rule of trigonometry that relates the sides and angles of triangles. It can be used to find an unknown length or angle in a triangle.

In trigonometry, a rule that relates the sides and angles of triangles. The rule has the formula:

a2 = b2 + c2 − 2bc cos A

where a, b, and c are the lenghts of the sides of the triangle, and A is the angle opposite a.
