Costas, Bob (1952– )

US sports broadcaster. Working for NBC from 1980, he was host of NFL Live, the NBC Sunday coverage of professional football, 1984–93, and from 1988 host of Later with Bob Costas, an interview show broadcast four times a week. He was the chief NBC broadcaster at the Olympic Games 1992–2008.

He covered baseball for NBC's Game of the Week 1983–89, and from 1991 was host of NBA Showtime, covering professional basketball. He has also hosted several series on HBO. Winner of more than 15 Emmy awards, he also won a record eight National Sportscaster of the Year awards.
