Cottage Grove

City in Washington County, southeastern Minnesota, USA, on the Mississippi River, 16 km/10 mi southeast of St Paul; population (1990) 22,900. Many light industries have sprung up in the northwestern part of the city, along Highway 61, manufacturing reflector products, precision parts for aircraft, and metal products.

A growing residential suburb, it experienced a boom in construction and commercial development in the 1980s.
