Coulthard, David Marshall (1971– )

Scottish racing driver who drove for the McLaren Formula 1 team from 1996 until 2005 when he switched to the Red Bull Team. He made his Formula 1 debut with the Williams team in 1994. In 2000 he won the British Grand Prix at Silverstone, England, for the second successive year. Also in 2000, he became the first British driver to win the Monaco Grand Prix since Jackie Stewart in 1973.

In 2000 he finished in second place in the Spanish Grand Prix at Barcelona, Spain, just days after surviving a serious plane crash.
