Cowichan Lake

Lake in south-central Vancouver Island, southwest British Columbia, Canada; 32 km/20 mi long and 2–3 km/1–2 mi wide. It is drained by the 45 km/28 mi–long Cowichan River, which flows east to the Strait of Georgia near the city of Duncan. North Cowichan, north of the river (district municipality; population (1991) 21,400), is the largest municipality in this growing area north of Victoria.

The Cowichan Valley, once an important logging district, is now a popular recreational and residential area.
