Coxwell, Henry Tracy (1819–1900)

English balloonist. He was one of the best-known Victorian professional balloonists, and made his first ascent in 1844. In 1862 he made a high-altitude ascent (over 11 km/7 mi) with the meteorologist James Glaisher for scientific observation.
