Crüger, Johann

Crüger, Johann (1598–1662)

German theorist and composer. He was cantor at St Nicholas's Church, Berlin, from 1622, and wrote several chorales which were later used by Johann Sebastian Bach. He also wrote manuals on singing and composition.
