Craig, Charles (1919- )

English tenor. He sang with the chorus of the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, London, from 1947 and in 1952 was heard in a London concert with Beecham performing Handel's Ode for St Cecilia's Day. He made his debut at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, in 1959, as Pinkerton, and sang in the first London performance of Dvořák's Russalka at the Sadler's Wells Theatre the same year. He was successful with the English National Opera Ensemble as Otello, at the age of 65. He appeared at Chicago, Berlin, Paris, and Vienna as a guest.
