Craig, Malin (1875-1945)

US soldier. He carried out extensive modernization as army chief of staff in the late 1930s. At his direction, the army upgraded mobilization plans, updated armoured equipment and tactics, and improved communications.

He was born in St Joseph, Missouri, the son of a career cavalry officer, and graduated from West Point in1898.
