Cromwell, Henry (1628–1674)

English Parliamentarian, fourth son of Oliver Cromwell. He went to Ireland as a colonel in 1650, was one of the Irish representatives in the Barebones Parliament in 1653, and was lord deputy of Ireland 1657–58, and lieutenant and governor general 1658–59.

After his eldest brother Richard fell from power in 1659 he returned to England, retiring into private life.
