Crookston

City in northwestern Minnesota, USA, on the Red Lake River, 39 km/24 mi southeast of Grand Forks, North Dakota; seat of Polk County; population (2000) 8,200. Settled in 1872 in the fertile valley left by glacial Lake Agassiz, it is a trade centre for wheat and diversified agricultural products and livestock.
