Crookstown

Village in County Cork, Republic of Ireland, 14 km/9 mi from Macroom; population (2002) 320. Crookstown has concrete and brick manufacturing. It is the site of numerous megalithic monuments and several castles.

Remains include the ruins of Dundrinane Castle (2 km/1 mi northeast) and a large ring fort, Lisnacaheragh (6 km/4 mi southeast), in which excavations found timbered dwellings and evidence of metalworking.
