crystal therapy

In alternative medicine, application of crystals to diseased or disordered physical structures or processes to effect healing or stabilizing.

Different gemstones are used as stimulators, balancers, tranquillizers, and amplifiers of healing processes, and some therapists claim to augment their effects by focusing light through the crystals or stimulating them electrically. Although healing properties have long been attributed to crystals and gemstones, the development of these therapies is recent. While a patient may believe in this form of treatment, there is no scientific evidence to suggest it is of any actual benefit.
