Cuberli, Leila (1945– )

US soprano. She studied in Dallas and made her opera debut at Budapest as Violetta in 1975. She sang at La Scala, Milan, from 1978 as Mozart's Constanze and Countess, and in Il re pastore/The Shepherd King and Ariodante. She made her Salzburg debut in 1986, and sang at Vienna in 1988, in Il Viaggio a Reims/The Journey to Rheims. in 1990 she performed at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, London, and at the New York Metropolitan Opera House as Mathilde in Guillaume Tell and as Semiramide. She was also a noted concert artist.
