Cuero

City in southern Texas, USA, on the Guadalupe River, 116 km/72 mi east-southeast of San Antonio; seat of De Witt County; population (1990) 6,700. It is a producer of dried eggs, turkey and other poultry, and dairy goods. Cuero also manufactures saddles and concrete and metal products, processes cotton, and has natural gas wells.

Founded in 1872, it was a roundup point for a branch of the Chisholm Trail.

An annual Turkeyfest here publicizes the poultry industry.
