Culbertson, Josephine (born Murphy) (1899-1956)

US bridge authority. She convinced her husband and partner Ely Culbertson to concentrate on bridge and helped him devise the dominant Culbertson bidding system. In 1922-30 she was reputedly the world's highest-paid bridge teacher.

She was born in New York City.
