Culzean Castle

Castle 6 km/4 mi west of Maybole, South Ayrshire, Scotland. In 1775 Robert Adam was employed to reconstruct the old castle, and to build a brew-house which was replaced a century later by the present west wing. The castle and over 200 ha/494 acres were given to the National Trust for Scotland in 1945, and in 1971 Scotland's first Country Park was established on the estate.
