Cumbrae, Great and Little

Two islands situated in the Firth of Clyde, in North Ayrshire unitary authority, Scotland. Great Cumbrae lies 3 km/2 mi from the North Ayrshire coast; population (2001) 1,440. The island is a popular resort for holidaymakers and day-trippers, and has a ferry connection to mainland Largs. The town of Millport is on its southern shore. Little Cumbrae, 1 km/0.6 mi south of Millport, is smaller and uninhabited.
