Cunninghamia

Genus of evergreen coniferous trees in the swamp cypress family, Taxodiaceae. They are natives of China. They have glossy, pointed leaves that grow spirally around the branches. C. sinensis is often planted for reafforestation, it grows to 25 m/80 ft and is prized for its light, durable, fragrant timber, used in building; C. konishii of Taiwan grows to 25–30 m/80–95 ft.
