Curran, Alvin (1938– )

US composer. He studied with Elliott Carter at Yale, and in Rome, Italy, he co-founded the group Musica Electronica Viva in 1966; he has also given solo performances at festivals of new music.

Works

Songs and Views from the Magnetic Gardens (1975); Light Flowers, Dark Flowers (1977); The Works (1980); Maritime Rites for foghorns, ships, and rowing boats full of singers (1984); Crystal Psalms, with six choruses (1988); Electric Rags I and II (1985, 1989).
