Cuyahoga Falls

City in Summit County, northeastern Ohio, USA, 8 km/5 mi northeast of Akron; population (1990) 48,950. Founded in 1812, the city is primarily a commuter suburb. However, a wide variety of products are manufactured here, including rubber goods, rubbermaking machinery, medical supplies, steel and wire machinery, and tools and dies.

The Cuyahoga River passes through the city, dropping 67 m/220 ft through a series of falls and rapids.
