Japanese television cartoon featuring fantastical creatures, that developed into an international multimedia industry in 1998. The cartoon spawned a highly successful video game, as well as toys, books, music, and three films (1999, 2000, 2001), all huge box office successes. Pokémon trading cards depicting the creatures were popular among children in Japan, Europe, and the USA in 1999 and 2000.

Santa Clarita will be the next-to-last stop on the 2007 Amgen Tour of California cycling road race that will start in San Francisco and conclude in Long Beach, organizers said Thursday.
The partnership will begin immediately with AEG sports properties the Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League (NHL) and the Amgen Tour of California cycling road race.
AEG Sports oversees sports franchises throughout the world including the Los Angeles Kings (NHL), Los Angeles Riptide (MLL) and three MLS franchises - The Los Angeles Galaxy, Chicago Fire and MLS Champion Houston Dynamo as well as events such as the Amgen Tour of California cycling road race and the ING Bay to Breakers foot race and an ongoing schedule of soccer exhibitions in the United States featuring the most popular international teams.
