Czerwenka, Oscar (1924- )

Austrian bass. He made his debut in Graz, in 1947, in Der Freischütz/The Marksman and has performed at the Vienna Staatsoper since 1951, and at Salzburg since 1953. His Glyndebourne debut was in 1959, as Ochs, and he sang at the New York Metropolitan Opera House in 1960, as Rocco. His other roles include Osmin, Kečal, and Abu Hassan in Der Barbier von Bagdad/The Barber from Baghdad.
