Dahlak Archipelago

Island group of Eritrea, East Africa, situated in the Red Sea, 70 km/44 mi east of the port of Massawa; population 2,000. The principal island, Dahlak, is 50 km/32 mi long and 30 km/18 mi wide.

Yemen has staked a claim to ownership of the Dahlaks. Tourist resorts are being developed.
