Dalry

Town in North Ayrshire unitary authority, Scotland, on the River Garnock, 36 km/23 mi southwest of Glasgow; population (2001) 5,400. The local textiles industry specializes in tweeds and hosiery, and bricks and pharmaceuticals are also manufactured. Dalry's iron foundries, established in 1845, are no longer in operation.
