Damnation de Faust, La

Dramatic cantata by Hector Berlioz (words by composer and A Gandonnière, based on Goethe's drama), composed in 1846, incorporating the Huit Scènes de Faust of 1828. It was first performed at the Opéra-Comique, Paris, France, on 6 December 1846, and first produced as an opera in Monte Carlo, Monaco, on 18 February 1893.
