Dandrieu (or d'Andrieu), Jean François (1682–1738)

French organist and composer. He succeeded his uncle, Pierre Dandrieu, as organist of the church of Saint-Barthélemy in Paris, and in 1704 he became organist at Saint-Merry. He was appointed organist of the royal chapel in 1721. He wrote a book on harpsichord accompaniment.

Works

a set of symphonies Les Caractères de la guerre (1718); trios for two violins and bass; violin sonatas; organ pieces; three volumes of harpsichord pieces.
