WOLF'S GANG: Michael Dargin, well-known maitre d' and general manager of Spago-Hollywood until it closed last year, has resurfaced as the maitre d' at Wolfgang Puck's new Vert brasserie-style restaurant in the Hollywood & Highland entertainment and shopping complex at 6801 Hollywood Blvd.
If any group was capable of doing it, it would be the Dargins currently fighting in Dagestan - 300,000 ultra-nationalists, armed by Iran and Afghanistan and with the utter ruthlessness of their Chechen neighbours.
Dargin has shutouts against Nipmuc and Nashoba in the two games he's played.
