Davidson, Jo

Davidson, Jo (1883–1952)

US sculptor. After studying art and working for a time in New York, he lived primarily in Paris. He is known for his sculptured portraits of Woodrow Wilson (1916), Gertrude Stein (1920), and the Allied war leaders (1918–19).

He was born in New York City and studied at the Art Students League and Yale Art School. On his return from Paris in 1940, he settled in Lahaska, Pennsylvania.
