Davy, John (1763-1824)

English composer. He was a pupil of Jackson at Exeter, and played in the orchestra at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, London. He wrote music for many plays, including Shakespeare's Tempest. His song The Bay of Biscay became famous.
