Dawei

Capital of Tenasserim division, southern Myanmar, situated 48 km/30 mi from the mouth of the Dawei River; population (2001 est) 113,400. Dawei is a small port used for coastal trade. Rice is produced in the surrounding area, and tin, wolfram, and iron-ore is mined nearby.
