Dawson, Lynne (1953– )

English soprano. She studied at the GSMD and made her opera debut as Mozart's Countess for Kent Opera in 1986. She sang Monteverdi's Orfeo at Florence in 1987, Pamina for Scottish Opera in 1988, and Xiphares in Mozart's Mitridate in Paris in 1991. She is a specialist in the Baroque repertory and has sung Angelica in Handel's Orlando and Cornelia in Graun's Cesare e Cleopatra, both at the Berlin Staatsoper in 1992. She had sung in concerts and recordings of Messiah, B minor Mass, The Fairy Queen and Dido and Aeneas.
