De Laurentiis, Dino (1919– )

Italian film producer. He has enjoyed a prolific but uneven career working in both Europe and the USA. He has produced films for some of the great European film-makers of the 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s, including Federico Fellini, Jean-Luc Godard, François Truffaut, and Ingmar Bergman.

His credits include Fellini's La strada/The Street (1954) and Le Notti di Cabiria/Nights of Cabiria (1957), Godard's Pierrot le Fou (1965), Roger Vadim's Barbarella (1968), Truffaut's La Mariée était en noir/The Bride Wore Black (1968), Sidney Lumet's Serpico (1973), Michael Winner's Death Wish (1974), Bergman's Das Schlangenei/The Serpent's Egg (1978), David Lynch's Dune (1984), and John Dahl's Unforgettable (1996).
