Dean, John (1926- )

US civil servant and counsel to US president Richard Nixon. Dean testified before the Ervin Committee that President Nixon had been involved in the cover-up over the Watergate affair. Dean's frank and damaging testimony almost single-handedly forced Nixon's resignation.
