Deburau, Jean Baptiste Gaspard (1796-1846)

Bohemian-born French actor and mime artist. He introduced the Pierrot into his performances and was taken on by the Théâtre des Funambules 1820-46, quickly becoming the rage of Paris. His son Charles uburau (1829-1873) was also a pierrot at the Funambules.
