decision tree

Diagrammatic representation of the choices available when making a decision, the possible outcomes of those choices, and the probabilities of those outcomes occurring. The diagram resembles a tree lying horizontally. By comparing the expected values of the possible outcomes an informed decision can be made. The decision tree is one of a number of different decision models.
