Dee

River which flows through Aberdeenshire, Scotland and the city of Aberdeen; length 137 km/85 mi. From its source in the Cairngorm Mountains, it flows east into the North Sea at Aberdeen (by an artificial channel in this latter stage). Near Braemar the river passes through a rock gorge, the Linn of Dee. Balmoral Castle is on its banks. It is noted for salmon fishing and is the fifth-longest river in Scotland.

There is another River Dee (61 km/38 mi) in Kirkcudbright, Scotland, and another (112 km/70 mi) flowing through Wales and England.
