Deer Lake

Town in west Newfoundland, Canada; population (1991) 4,300. It is situated on the Humber River, at the north end of Deer Lake, and 47 km/29 mi northeast of Corner Brook, on the Trans-Canada Highway. It is a lumbering and sawmilling centre. A hydroelectric plant here powers Corner Brook's mills.

From October, AC and Air Canada Jazz will add weekday flights from Halifax to Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa and Deer Lake.
This will include the construction of eight bridges, a new interchange at Ferguson Road /Highway 520, as well as the re-alignment of Highway 592 /Sunset Pass Drive from Deer Lake Road to Katrine Road.
The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors on Tuesday gave the go-ahead for a 375-home development, including a sheriff's substation, at the Deer Lake site in the hills at the northwest edge of the San Fernando Valley, north of Chatsworth.
