Delacôte, Jacques (1942– )

French conductor. He studied at the Vienna Academy, with Swarowsky, and won the 1972 Mitropoulos Competition in New York; he led the New York Philharmonic Orchestra from 1973. He has conducted opera at Hamburg, Paris, and London (at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden) and appeared with the London Symphony Orchestra, the Cleveland Symphony Orchestra, and other orchestras in Mahler, Bruckner and French music. He conducted the Promenade Concerts in London in 1986, and Massenet's Le Cid at Chicago in 1993.
